RadioShack To Close 6 Michigan Stores

The company, which has filed for bankruptcy for a second time, is closing 552 stores nationwide, or 36 percent of the chain.

Six RadioShack stores in Michigan are among 552 stores the chain will permanently close after filing for bankruptcy. The stores to be closed have the “lowest sales velocity and highest rent,” according to a federal bankruptcy court filing.

Business Insider said the locations to be closed represent 36 percent of the chain’s stores. The remaining 1,000 stores are being evaluated.

The company said earlier this month that it was filing for bankruptcy for the second time since 2015, Business Insider reported.
