METRO DETROIT — Widespread rain showers and cooler temperatures are likely in the metro Detroit area over the next few days, according to the National Weather Service.
Thursday will stay mostly dry with temperatures climbing toward 60 degrees in the metro area, before more widespread rain showers move into the area Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
Spotty showers are possible through the daytime hours in the metro area Friday when temperatures reach the mid 50s before becoming more widespread and possibly heavy during the nighttime hours, according to the National Weather Service.

The steady rainfall will bleed into Saturday morning with heavy showers hanging around in the area through the afternoon hours when temperatures hovering in the mid 50s, according to the National Weather Service.
More rain showers are likely Sunday in the metro area, although meteorologists don't expect any widespread rainfall Sunday as highs stay in the med 50s, according to the National Weather Service.

Here's the National Weather Service's extended look at the metro Detroit area:
Thursday: A slight chance of showers before 11 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 60 degrees. East northeast wind around 7 miles per hour. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
Friday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 58 degrees. East wind 10 to 13 miles per hour.
Saturday: Showers. High near 54 degrees. Breezy, with a northeast wind 16 to 18 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 28 miles per hour. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Sunday: A chance of showers after 8 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 55 degrees. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
Monday: A chance of showers. Cloudy, with a high near 52 degrees.
