Rain, Mild Temperatures: Metro Detroit Weather

METRO DETROIT — Scattered rain showers moved into the metro Detroit area Christmas night and will stick around Tuesday as temperatures warm into the mid 50s, according to the National Weather Service.

Tuesday will not be an all-day rainmaker, but some areas in the metro region will see on-and-off rain showers throughout the afternoon and evening hours, according to the National Weather Service.

The metro region will get a break from the rain Wednesday when highs fall into the upper 40s, before more rain showers return during the nighttime hours, according to the National Weather Service.

The rain showers will bleed over into Thursday during the afternoon and evening hours when highs reach the upper 40s in the metro area, according to the National Weather Service.

The rain showers are part of a wider weather system that's expected to bring snow and blizzard conditions to parts of the Midwest, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters expect drier weather with more sunshine to move into the metro area for the end of the week and the start of the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
