Rain Showers To End Week: Metro Detroit Weather

Rain showers will be in the area leading up to kickoff at the Michigan-Michigan State football game in East Lansing on Saturday.

METRO DETROIT — A brief stretch of 60 degree temps will fade away as rain showers move into the metro Detroit area to end the week, according to the National Weather Service.

Thursday's high will hit 60 degrees before widespread rain showers move into the area during the afternoon hours and stick around for most of the day, according to the National Weather Service.

Scattered rain showers will linger into Friday morning, but should dry up toward the evening hours, according to the National Weather Service. Forecasters said high temperatures in the area will cool down into the 50s Friday.

The scattered rain showers will also linger into Saturday, but should fade away from southeastern Michigan before kickoff at the Michigan-Michigan State football game in East Lansing, according to the National Weather Service. Forecasters said highs will only reach the 50s and remain chilly throughout the evening as lows drop into the 40s.

Thursday: Showers likely, mainly after 2 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 61 degrees. South southwest wind 10 to 14 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 25 miles per hour. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Friday: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 58 degrees. West wind around 9 miles per hour. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.

Saturday: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 54 degrees. West wind 8 to 11 miles per hour. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 51 degrees.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 54 degrees.
