Rainy Week With Cooler Temperatures: Metro Detroit Weather

Cloudy skies and scattered rain showers will stick around until Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

METRO DETROIT — Scattered rain showers are likely throughout the week with high temperatures topping out in the upper 60s in the metro Detroit region, according to the National Weather Service.

Scattered rain showers will cross the metro Detroit on Monday evening and then stick around through Thursday, which will be the coolest day of the week with highs only reaching 66 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

The cloudy skies and scattered rain showers will fizzle away Friday when sunshine and warmer temperatures reaching the 70s returns to the area, according to the National Weather Service.

Here's the National Weather Service's extended forecast for the metro Detroit area:

Monday: A chance of showers before 1 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 71 degrees. East wind around 10 miles per hour. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Tuesday: Showers likely, mainly before 8 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 68 degrees. East southeast wind 9 to 11 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 18 miles per hour. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Wednesday: A chance of showers. Cloudy, with a high near 67 degrees. East southeast wind 11 to 13 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 20 miles per hour. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.

Thursday: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 65 degrees. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 70 degrees.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 73 degrees.
