Redford Union Virtual Learning Graduates Inaugural Class
Redford Union Virtual Learning Program offers quality online education for Wayne County Middle and High School students.

The Redford Union School District today announced its Virtual Learning Program’s first graduating class. The five 2019 graduates are: Zarriyah Washington-Williams; Cameron Allen; Sierra Hoskins; Cateria Fields and Alexis H.




Redford Union’s Virtual Learning program is open exclusively to Wayne County Residents. The program offers a robust online curriculum for Middle School grades 6-8 and High School grades 9-12. A Redford Union diploma is awarded upon high school graduation from the program.
Virtual Learning students are provided with state-of-the-art technology and equipment, including a laptop computer and wi-fi. Students are required to check in with teachers twice a week to discuss their classes and what they are working on via one of six ways:

- Coming into the Virtual Learning lab located within the Redford Union School District. The Lab provides tutoring help and support and offers flexible hours to accommodate working students’ schedules.

Virtual Learning utilizes the Edgenuity lesson platform; a user-friendly, national virtual learning platform that complies with Michigan education standards. The platform offers online classes that students do at their own pace. It includes lesson plans, tutorials, quizzes, testing and reviews, as well as national testing preparation. Student classes are offered across a wide range of disciplines including:
- English Language Arts
- Mathematics
- Science
- Social Studies
- Advanced Placement
- World Languages (Spanish, French, Chinese, German and Latin on both High School and Middle School levels)
- College Level Electives
- National Test Preparation (SAT, ACT, GED, HiSET, TASC, COMPASS, ACCUPLACER)
- Instructional Services Electives
- General Electives
- CTE Electives
- Dynamic Learning Electives offering a cross-section of courses in language arts, creative arts, STEM and CTE.
Admission to the program is open all year, and students can typically begin classes within 24 hours of registering. To enroll, you will need a copy of the student’s birth certificate, proof of Wayne County residency, immunization records, transcripts, and a photo ID for the parent or guardian registering the student.
