Bloomfield Township Police Arrest Severely Intoxicated Shoplifter

Man blows a .307 blood alcohol level after taking numerous items from Woodward Rite Aid store.

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI — Officers were called to the vicinity of the Rite-Aid store at 42931 Woodward on Oct. 11 to check on the welfare of a man who was reported to be intoxicated and wandering in and out of the store throughout the evening.

According to a police report, officers found the man, 44 year-old Ryan Krych of Highland, at the gas station across the street from Rite-Aid. Krych had $59 worth of Rite-Aid merchandise in his pockets. The investigation showed that Krych had not paid for any of the items that included a radio, a fit tracker, and batteries. Officers arrested Krych for Retail Fraud. Because of his high blood alcohol level, .307, doctors at St Joseph Oakland medically cleared him before he was taken to the police station. Krych has been arrested over 90 times in the past 20 years for different offenses that include disorderly conduct and other retail frauds.

Magistrate Mansour arraigned Krych at the 48th District Court. He is being held at the Oakland County Jail on a $100,000 bond. His next court date is October 25.
