Several Chances For Storms Across Detroit Area This Week As Summer Heat Returns

There are multiple chances for storms across the Detroit area this week as temperatures climb back into the 90s, according to the National Weather Service.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will persist throughout the afternoon hours Monday with highs in the upper 80s, according to NWS.

Tuesday will start dry, but chances for storms increase through the afternoon hours when highs reach the 90s, according to NWS.

There will also be chances for storms Wednesday afternoon when highs again hit the 90-degree mark, according to NWS.

Forecasters warned the storms could produce heavy downpours, large hail and winds up to 60 miles per hour.

Southeastern Michigan was placed under a Marginal Risk (1/5) for severe weather on Tuesday, and a Slight Risk (2/5) for Wednesday.

Rain showers will stick around across the region on Thursday with highs falling back down into the 80s, according to NWS.

Sunshine returns to the Detroit on Friday and through the holiday weekend with highs in the low 80s, according to NWS.
