Severe Storms, Strong Winds Likely Across Metro Detroit Wednesday
The thunderstorms can produce heavy downpours, large hail and damaging wind gusts up 60 miles per hour, the National Weather Service said.
METRO DETROIT — Multiple rounds of severe thunderstorms are likely across southeastern Michigan on Wednesday as warm and sticky conditions linger in the region, according to the National Weather Service.
The first wave of thunderstorms will pass through the metro Detroit area sometime in the late morning hours toward midday Wednesday when temperatures warm up into the 80s, according to the National Weather Service.
Stronger thunderstorms are likely to roll through the region in the afternoon hours, sometime after 3 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

Meteorologists said those storms will be capable of producing heavy downpours, large hail and damaging wind gusts up to 60 miles per hour. The storms are expected to move from the southwest to the east at 25-30 miles per hour, according to the National Weather Service.
A third a final wave of isolated thunderstorms are likely to cross the region after 6 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

Highs in the 70s will stick around in the area all through the weekend and even into early next week, according to the National Weather Service.
