Severe Thunderstorm Watch: Metro Detroit Weather

Forecasters warned the storms can produce heavy rainfall, large hail and damaging winds up to 60 miles per hour.​ ​

METRO DETROIT — Multiple rounds of thunderstorms are expected to move through metro Detroit Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Monroe, Lenawee and Washtenaw counties are under a severe thunderstorm watch until noon.

Most of southeastern Michigan was placed under a marginal risk (level 1 of 5) for severe storms Tuesday.

The first round of storms are expected to move through southeastern Michigan Tuesday morning and taper off sometime around noon, according to the National Weather Service.

After a break in the afternoon hours when highs reach the upper 80s, a second round of storms is expected to then cross southeastern Michigan sometime during the evening hours, according to the National Weather Service.
