Severe Thunderstorms Possible In SE Michigan This Weekend

METRO DETROIT — Severe thunderstorms are possible in metro Detroit this weekend when temperatures reach the 70s, according to the National Weather Service.

The thunderstorms are expected to cross southeastern Michigan on Sunday morning, bringing the potential for gusty winds and large hail, according to the National Weather Service.

The Storm Prediction Center placed most of southeastern Michigan under a marginal risk (level 1 of 5) for severe thunderstorms Sunday.

Monday also brings a chance for rain showers and thunderstorms in southeastern Michigan ahead of a warm front that will push highs even further into the 70s, according to the National Weather Service.

The thunderstorms are expected to roll into the region during the afternoon hours Monday, according to the National Weather Service. Forecasters warned any thunderstorm that pops up can be severe with gusty winds.
