Snow, Ice Expected In Metro Detroit Monday: Here's How Much And Where
Some areas in metro Detroit are under a winter weather advisory Monday with more freezing rain and snow expected, forecasters said.
METRO DETROIT — Some areas in metro Detroit are under a winter weather advisory for the first half of Monday as a storm system is expected to bring freezing rain and snow to the area, according to the National Weather Service.
The advisory is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for Genesee, Lapeer, Livingston, Macomb, Oakland, Sanilac and St. Clair counties, where snow and ice accumulations are likely, according to the National Weather Service.
Snow will move into metro Detroit communities north of Interstate 94 on Monday morning, before transitioning into freezing rain in the early afternoon then straight rain in the later afternoon hours as temperatures reach to upper 30s, according to the weather service.

Areas in Washtenaw and Wayne counties will get less than an 1 inch of snow and little to no ice accumulation, while areas in Macomb and Oakland counties (especially north of Interstate 696) will get at least 1 inch of snow and could see up to .10 inches ice accumulation, according to the weather service.
Areas north of Interstate 69 will see more snow with accumulations between 1 and 3 inches, and areas in the Thumb region could see between 4 and 6 inches of snow, according to the weather service.

Forecasters warned drivers to prepare for slippery roads with deteriorating conditions, along with strong winds with gusts reaching up to 35 miles per hour throughout the region.
The storm system comes after a Wednesday ice storm knocked out power to over 660,000 Michiganders. On Monday morning, 62,000 DTE Energy customers were still without power with outages scattered across metro Detroit.
