Snowy Tuesday Will Disrupt Morning Drive: MI Weather

SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN — Snow showers with accumulations are expected to move into southeastern Michigan on Tuesday morning and disrupt the morning drive, according to the National Weather Service.
Forecasters expect the snowmaker to dump 1 to 2 inches of fresh snow across southeastern Michigan before transitioning to rain in the afternoon hours when temperatures hit the upper 30s, according to the National Weather Service.
Forecasters warned the heavy wet snow will lead to snow covered roads with reduced visibilities during the morning hours, according to the National Weather Service.

With the Tuesday's expected precipitation, the metro Detroit area will set an all-time record for the wettest January (5.02 inches set in 1932). As of Monday, the area has seen roughly 5 inches of rain and snow, according to the National Weather Service.
After Tuesday's weather system rolls through, the rest of the week across southeastern Michigan will be dry and calm with highs staying above average and hitting the mid 40s, according to the National Weather Service.
