Forecasters said an additional one to two inches of snow is possible through the morning hours, on top of the overnight snowfall. They warned visibility could fall to below one mile at times.
Overall, 1–3 inches of fresh snow is expected to fall across the Detroit area, with the highest accumulations between Interstate 94 and Interstate 69, according to the National Weather Service.

The snow will taper off during the afternoon hours when highs reach the low 30s, the weather service said.
Highs will be colder Thursday as a polar vortex brings dangerously cold temperatures into the region. Air temperatures will be in the single digits Friday and Saturday with minimum wind chills below -10 degrees, the weather service said.

Gusty winds could push wind chills to as low as -35 degrees across the region, the weather service said.
The bitter cold will stick around Sunday and into early next week.
