St. Patrick’s Day 2026: Your Guide To Fun In Detroit Area

There are plenty of St. Patrick's Day-related events in the Detroit area.

Michiganders who plan to join in the global celebration of Irish culture can choose from big and small events, including a parade in Detroit.

The March 17 holiday falls on a Tuesday this year, and many big events will be held the weekend of March 14-15. Originally a modest, religious feast day honoring the patron saint of Ireland, St. Patrick’s Day today is a vibrant, boisterous holiday observed by millions of people regardless of their heritage.

The 68th Detroit St. Patrick’s Day Parade will happen on Sunday, March 15 in Corktown. The parade typically draws between 80,000 and 100,000 people, making it one of the largest parades in the nation.

The Detroit Shamrock Festival will happen on Saturday, March 15 at 401 Macomb St., Detroit. The party will start at noon with live music and whiskey shots and beer all day served all day long.

The St. Patrick’s Day Bar Crawl by Bar Crawl will also be Saturday. It starts at 2 p.m. at Mati’s Avli Rooftop at 501 Monroe St., Detroit. The bar crawl will be in and around Greektown.
