METRO DETROIT — Several rounds of rain showers and scattered thunderstorms will sweep across the metro Detroit area Friday and into the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

More rain showers and thunderstorms are expected late Friday and will bleed over into Saturday, when widespread rain showers could produce up to 1 inch of rainfall in some metro Detroit areas, according to the National Weather Service.
