‘Survivor’ Casting Call In Detroit June 15: What You Need To Know
Local adventurers over 18 get a chance to star in the CBS reality show "Survivor." Here's how to apply, and what to say in video interview.

DETROIT, MI — The CBS reality show “Survivor” is holding a casting call in Detroit next week for people who are looking for extreme adventures. it’s the only open call anywhere in the country for the rest of the year, and the first in Metro Detroit since 2014. It’s open to anyone 18 and will be held from 3-7 p.m. Thursday, June 15, at Gardner White Furniture in Auburn Hills.
The “Survivor” cameras roll 24/7 as contestants participate in both team and individual challenges, competing to keep their places on the remote location. A Tribal Council meets weekly, and after group votes, competitors are eliminated and forced to extinguish their torches. Each challenge, the competition gets stiffer, emotions fly higher, and the level of perseverance demanded continues to rise.
One player is voted off each week, until one person finishes strong in the final challenge and is deemed the “Sole Survivor” and winner of a $1 million cash gift.

What to Bring
Each applicant attending the Survivor Casting Call will need to bring a signed video release form, along with a valid United States driver’s license or passport. Each person will be videotaped by CBS Detroit and will have one minute to explain why they should be a contestant on “Survivor.” The video release form and other eligibility requirements can be found at CBSDetroit.com/Survivor17.

Also, don’t show up empty-handed. CBS Detroit is teaming up with Forgotten Harvest to conduct a community food drive, and attendees are encouraged to bring a nonperishable food item to the June 15 event.
