DETROIT, MI — A teen was shot to death after he and his friend were playing with a gun while streaming live on Instagram. The shooting took place just before midnight Monday night in a home on the city's west side. According to a spokesman from the Detroit Police Department, the two friends, both 18 years old, were filming their activity with a rifle on the social media account when the firearm discharged. The teen who shot the gun told police he "accidentally" pulled the trigger, striking the victim in the head. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
