Temps Could Hit 50 Degrees This Week: Metro Detroit Weather

After bitter cold, some spots in the metro Detroit area could see 50 degrees this week, according to the National Weather Service.

METRO DETROIT — After an arctic blast pushed temperatures into the signal digits with wind chills below zero, some spots in the metro Detroit area could see 50 degrees this week, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures in the metro area will stay fairly cool Monday, hovering around 35 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. But after Monday, forecasters said the region will see a significant warm-up with multiple rain chances.

The rest of the work week will see temperatures above 40 degrees, with Tuesday and Thursday approaching 50 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

The warmer temperatures, however, bring rain chances for the entire week, according to the National Weather Service.

Monday: Partly sunny, with a high near 37 degrees. North northwest wind 5 to 7 miles per hour becoming south southeast in the afternoon.

Tuesday: A chance of rain before 1 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 46 degrees. Breezy, with a south wind of 21 to 24 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 36 miles per hour. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent.

Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 40 degrees. Light and variable wind becoming south southeast 5 to 7 miles per hour in the morning. Rain, mainly after 2 a.m. Low around 33 degrees. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent.

Thursday: Rain, mainly before 2 p.m. High near 50 degrees. Breezy. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent.

Friday: A chance of rain after 2 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 40 degrees.

Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 32 degrees.
