DETROIT — A baby was found safe Friday afternoon in Detroit after a thief stole a woman's car with the child in the backseat, Detroit Police said.
Police said a woman briefly went inside a hair salon in the area of 7 Mile and Greenfield roads on Detroit’s west side, leaving her 1-year-old child in the car with the engine running.
That's when police said the thief stole the woman's car and drove a couple of blocks before dropping the baby off along a busy sidewalk, police said. The thief then drove away in the car, which police described as a dark blue 2019 Hyundai Accent with tinted windows.
