Thunderstorms Could Hit Detroit Area As Temps Warm Into 80s: NWS
The best chance for showers and thunderstorms will be along and north of Michigan 59, according to the National Weather Service.
SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN — Thunderstorms are likely across southeastern Michigan Monday, according to the National Weather Service.
The thunderstorms will move into southeastern Michigan along a cold front during the afternoon and evening hours when high temperatures push 80 degrees in the region, according to the weather service.
The best chance for showers and storms will be along and north of Michigan 59 toward the Tri-Cities and lower Thumb region, according to the weather service.

Forecasters do not expect any thunderstorms to reach severe intensity, but they did say some storms will be capable of producing wind gusts up to 40 miles per hour and up to half inch hail, according to the weather service.
The rain will bleed over into Tuesday morning and increase in coverage toward the metro Detroit area as the cold front stalls over Interstate 69, according to the weather service.

Those rain showers should fizzle away in the afternoon hours Tuesday when high temperatures only reach the mid 60s across southeastern Michigan, according to the weather service.
High temperatures will warm back into the 70s under sunny skies on Wednesday and Thursday, before another chance of rain on Friday across southeastern Michigan, according to the weather service.
