Forecasters expect the scattered thunderstorms to move across the region during the afternoon hours when temperatures reach the mid 80s, according to the National Weather Service. Forecasters do not expect any severe weather or any heavy downpours.
The scattered showers and thunderstorms should wrap-up in the region during the evening hours, giving away to clearing skies for the Fourth of July holiday Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters expect a clear and sunny Fourth of July with temperatures pushing 90 degrees in the metro Detroit area, according to the National Weather Service.
Wednesday will be a near repeat of Tuesday, before more rain moves into the area Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

Here's the National Weather Service's extended look at the metro Detroit area:
Monday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 82 degrees. North northwest wind 7 to 9 miles per hour. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 88 degrees. Southwest wind 3 to 6 miles per hour.
Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 90 degrees. South wind 6 to 10 miles per hour.
Thursday: Showers likely, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 2 p.m. High near 83 degrees. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent.
Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 80 degrees.
