Thunderstorms Likely Across Metro Detroit Friday Night: MI Weather
Heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected to move into the metro Detroit area Friday night, according to the National Weather Service.
METRO DETROIT — Heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected to move into the metro Detroit area Friday night, according to the National Weather Service.
Most of southeastern Michigan is under a marginal risk for severe weather, particularly along and southwest of a Detroit to Saginaw line from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m., the weather service said.
The chance for severe thunderstorms develops around 10 p.m. when heavy rain moves into the area along a warm front that will push temperatures to nearly 60 degrees, the weather service said.

Forecasters also warned the thunderstorms can trigger damaging winds with gusts up to 45 miles per hour, the weather service said.
Any lingering overnight rain showers and thunderstorms should wrap-up by Saturday morning when temperatures plummet back into the mid 40s, the weather service said.

Sunday will remain on the cooler side with highs staying in the mid 40s, before temperatures jump back into the 60s for the first week of April, the weather service said.
Most of southeastern Michigan may even see 70 degrees on Wednesday!
