Thunderstorms Likely Tuesday Across Metro Detroit As Temperatures Cool
Forecasters do not expect any severe weather, but warned any thunderstorm that pops up could produce winds up to 45 miles per hour.
METRO DETROIT — Scattered thunderstorms are expected to cross the metro Detroit area Tuesday along a strong cold front that will usher in fall like temperatures, according to the National Weather Service.
The thunderstorms will cross the metro Detroit area sometime between 2 and 8 p.m. when temperatures reach the upper 70s, according to the National Weather Service.

The thunderstorms should clear out of the region by the nighttime hours when temperatures drop back into the 50s, according to the National Weather Service.
The strong cold front out of the northwest will keep temperatures in the metro Detroit area below 70 degrees Wednesday, before slowly climbing back into the 80s by the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

Nearly 8,000 DTE customers in the metro Detroit area were still without power Tuesday morning after multiple rounds of severe thunderstorms last week. The severe weather across lower Michigan last week produced seven tornadoes that left five people dead and injured multiple others.

Tuesday: Isolated showers between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m., then scattered showers and thunderstorms after 5 p.m. Increasing clouds, with a high near 79 degrees. Calm wind becoming southwest 5 to 7 miles per hour in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
Wednesday: Cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 68 degrees. North northwest wind 8 to 10 miles per hour.
Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 73 degrees. East northeast wind 6 to 8 miles per hour.
Friday: Sunny, with a high near 78 degrees.
Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 85 degrees.
Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 89 degrees.
Monday: Sunny, with a high near 90 degrees.
