Thunderstorms Possible Across Metro Detroit Thursday Afternoon

Forecasters do not expect any of the storms to be severe, but warned some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall and gutsy winds.

SOUTHEASTERN MICHIGAN — Thunderstorms are possible Thursday afternoon and evening across southeastern Michigan as heavy rain and gusty winds move into the region, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters do not expect any of the storms to be severe, but warned some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall and gutsy winds between 35 and 45 miles per hour, according to the National Weather Service.

There should be a slight pause in the showers overnight before more widespread rain returns to southeastern Michigan Friday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

The rain will be steady throughout Friday morning and afternoon when high temperatures struggle to reach 50 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters also warned gusty winds reaching up to 45 miles per hour are possible Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
