Tornado, 60 MPH Winds, Hail Could Hit Detroit Area Friday
Forecasters expect the storms to hit the area during the afternoon hours along a cold front that will push out the heat and humidity.
SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN — Another round of severe thunderstorms will hit southeastern Michigan Friday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
The storms will move into the southeastern Michigan region along a cold front sometime between 4 and 10 p.m. when high temperatures reach the upper 80s with heat indices in the 90s, according to the weather service.
Forecasters warned the storms will be capable of producing heavy downpours, large hail, damaging winds up to and greater than 60 miles per hour. An isolated tornado is also possible in some areas, according to the weather service.

There will be a slight chance for showers Saturday morning across southeastern Michigan before highs reach 80 degrees with much lower humidity levels, according to the weather service.
High temperatures across southeastern Michigan will then drop into the 70s under sunny skies through the rest of the weekend and into early next week, according to the weather service.
