Tornadoes, Flooding, Large Hail Possible In Metro Detroit Wednesday
All of southeastern Michigan is under an enhanced risk (level 3 of 5) for severe weather, according to the National Weather Service.
METRO DETROIT — Another round of severe weather is taking aim at metro Detroit as a powerful line of severe thunderstorms is expected to roll into southeastern Michigan on Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.
Forecasters expect the storms to cross the region sometime between 2 and 9 p.m. Wednesday when temperatures climb toward 90 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
The strongest storms will line up from the southern thumb region down to the Ohio border, bringing the possibility of heavy downpours, 1 inch hail, wind gusts up to 60 miles per hour and even an isolated tornado, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters also warned of flash flooding as heavy downpours could produce up to or more than 2 inches rainfall per hour, according to the National Weather Service.

The thunderstorms should wrap up by Wednesday night, giving away to clearing skies on Thursday as temperatures heat up into the 90s, according to the National Weather Service.
Heat indices are likely to climb into the mid and upper 90s on Thursday and Friday, before more rain moves into the area Friday night, according to the National Weather Service.
Wednesday's severe thunderstorm threat is the latest round of wicked weather to hit the region. A strong line of thunderstorms rolled through the region last week, knocking down tree limbs and power lines, leaving roughly 70,000 DTE customers in the dark. Some areas of Metro Detroit saw severe weather again on Monday.
