Tornadoes, Large Hail Can Hit Detroit Area: Breakdown, Timeline
Areas along a line from East Lansing to metro Detroit are expected to see an increased chance for severe weather, forecasters said.
SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN — Strong thunderstorms could hit southeastern Michigan late Tuesday afternoon and evening, according to the National Weather Service.
A wave of showers will first move into southeastern Michigan sometime between 3 and 5 p.m. when high temperatures in the region climb toward 70 degrees, according to the weather service.
Then, strong-to-severe thunderstorms will roll into southeastern Michigan between 6 and 11 p.m., according to the weather service.

Forecasters warned some storms could produce heavy downpours, large hail up to 1 inch in diameter, damaging winds up to 60 miles per hour and isolated tornadoes, according to the weather service.
Areas along a line from East Lansing to metro Detroit are expected to see an increased chance for severe weather, with the greatest chance coming along and south of the Interstate 94 corridor, according to the weather service.
