United Way for Southeastern Michigan President and CEO Dr. Herman Gray was a recent recipient of the Champions of Education award, presented by the Detroit Public Schools Community District (DPSCD) Foundation.
Gray received the honor, along with the Mother of Detroit Rapper Big Sean Myra Anderson, during a formal ceremony held at MGM Grand Detroit. DPSCD Foundation President Dr. Glenda Price presented the award to each recipient along with DPSCD Superintendent Dr. Nikolai Vitti.
More than 300 guests filled the room for the event which included remarks from the honorees, and Dr. Vitti, and exuberant jazz, dance, and singing performances by DPSCD students.
