Summer-like temperatures return to the metro Detroit area early next week, according to the National Weather Service.
METRO DETROIT — Warmer temperatures are on the horizon after a chilly start to the work week in the metro Detroit area, according to the National Weather Service.
High temperatures in the area will hit the upper 60s under sunny skies with lows falling into the 50s, according to the National Weather Service.
Temperatures will then warm up into the 70s on Friday and during the weekend before a chance of rain showers on Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

Summer-like temperatures then return to the metro Detroit area early next week as highs could reach 80 degrees Tuesday and for the rest of that week, according to the National Weather Service.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 70 degrees. East northeast wind 3 to 5 miles per hour.
Friday: Sunny, with a high near 71 degrees. Light and variable wind becoming southeast around 6 miles per hour in the morning.
Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 73 degrees. South southwest wind 3 to 7 miles per hour.
Sunday: A chance of showers after 8am. Partly sunny, with a high near 70 degrees. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.
Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 69 degrees.
Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 74 degrees.
