"When I saw I’d won $2 million, I was in complete shock," he told lottery officials. "I buy scratch-off tickets all the time and have won smaller prizes, but I honestly never thought I’d win a big prize like this, so I feel over the moon excited and blessed."
He decided to receive his prize as a one-time lump-sum payment of about $1.3 million rather than annuity payments for the full amount.
