Winter Storm: Metro Detroit Snow Totals
Most areas in metro Detroit reported 4 to 6 inches of snow, with higher amounts coming north and west of the region.
METRO DETROIT — While it appears metro Detroit won't get the 12 to 18 inches of snow that was initially predicted by the National Weather Service, Wednesday's winter storm still dumped a lot of snow with most of it coming in the north and west zones of metro Detroit.
Overall, most of metro Detroit saw snow totals in the 4 to 6 range, while farther north and west of metro Detroit saw higher accumulations closer to 9 inches of snow. However, another 1 to 2 inches of snow is expected in metro Detroit on Thursday.
