Wintry Mix To Hit Metro Detroit This Week: MI Weather

METRO DETROIT — More wintry weather can make its way into the southeastern Michigan area this week, according to the National Weather Service.

Conditions will stay dry with above freezing temperatures across southeastern Michigan until the winter storm moves into the region Wednesday, according to national forecasters.

The widespread storm will move into the area with a wintry mix of snow, sleet and rain during the late afternoon and evening hours Wednesday, according to national forecasters.

Freezing rain and ice can accumulate during the overnight hours as temperatures across the region fall into the 20s, according to national forecasters.

Forecasters warned the ice can affect Thursday morning's commute.

Any lingering remnants from the storm should clear out of southeastern Michigan by Thursday morning as highs climb toward the 40s, according to national forecasters.

Conditions will stay dry Friday with cooler temperatures, before more snow this weekend, according to national forecasters.
