• New roundabout nearly complete on edge of downtown Dexter (mlive.com) — Drivers in and around Dexter will soon see traffic flowing again as the new single-lane roundabout at Island Lake and Dexter-Chelsea roads nears its planned Aug. 28 opening. Detours remain in place while crews finish signs, markings, sidewalk ramps and signals, plus safety upgrades at the historic railroad viaduct and at Island Lake and Dexter-Pinckney roads. Residents can track progress and sign up for road alerts online.
   

• Asian students made up 1.2% of Dexter Early Elementary Complex enrollment in 2024-25 (annarbortimes.com) — Families in Dexter's Early Elementary Complex are seeing a slightly smaller student body this year, with 734 children enrolled and Asian students making up 1.2% of the population. The report tracks six years of demographic shifts at the school, set against Michigan's increased per-pupil funding and continued support for free meals, pre-K and community college.
   

• Webster Twp: Board Meeting Synopsis 8/18/26 (thesuntimesnews.com) — Webster Township's board recently reappointed two members to the Dexter District Library Board while also delaying a decision on 2026 township millage rates. The meeting covered everything from a $279,000 invoice package and a private road moratorium extension to a major PDR land purchase request and the upcoming resignation of the township treasurer.
