Dexter Community Schools Hires New CFO (thesuntimesnews.com) — Dexter Community Schools has hired veteran school finance leader Jill Minnick as its new chief financial officer, with her tenure beginning September 21. With decades of experience in Michigan K–12 finance and oversight of major capital programs, she's expected to guide long‑range budgeting and internal controls that directly affect Dexter students, staff, and taxpayers.
   

2. City of Dexter looking to add fines for false fire alarms (wemu.org) — Dexter City Council is considering adding escalating fines for repeat false fire alarms after 20 such calls in a year, citing real costs from Dexter Area Fire Department responses. Council members rejected an initial $3,000-per-incident proposal as too steep and asked staff to draft a more moderate fee schedule for future action.
   

3. Ronald James Carpinella (thesuntimesnews.com) — Family and friends are invited to honor Dr. Ronald James Carpinella at visitation and funeral services at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Mast Road in Dexter this Friday evening and Saturday morning. Former Michigan State TE added to Eastern Michigan roster for 2026 (usatoday.com) — A Dexter native, tight end and quarterback Reeves Taylor, has landed a new role with Eastern Michigan's football team for the 2026 season as a long snapper. After stints at Ventura Community College, Michigan State, and Independence Community College, his journey from hometown roots to Division I roster spot offers a notable local sports connection for Dexter fans.
