• Wylie Elementary School had 7 African American students in 2024-25 (annarbortimes.com) — Families in Dexter's Wylie Elementary School may notice growing diversity, as seven African American students were enrolled in 2024‑25, up from three the previous year. Overall enrollment reached 486 students, with Dexter Community Schools reporting that Dexter High School has the district's highest number of African American students amid broader statewide enrollment declines.
• Michigan's Toy-Making History Comes to Dexter Museum (thesuntimesnews.com) — Dexter residents can explore Michigan's 20th‑century toy‑making history at a free program on Sunday, Sept. 27, from 2–4 p.m. at the Dexter Area Museum on Inverness Street. Historian Tim VanAken will showcase antique toys, and visitors can also browse museum displays and enjoy light refreshments after the Dexter Area Historical Society's brief annual meeting.
• Kicking-off the Fall Season at Jacob's Fresh Farm (thesuntimesnews.com) — Just outside Dexter, Jacob's Fresh Farm on Fletcher Road is inviting locals to kick off fall with colorful mums, U‑pick strawberries, lavender, sunflowers, and pumpkins. The family farm, located between Chelsea and Dexter, has faced weather and health challenges this year and is encouraging community members to visit, buy produce, and support its all‑natural operation.
