📰 News we're reading

• Savage Flower Farm Blooms in Dexter (thesuntimesnews.com) — A new hidden gem, Savage Flower Farm, is blooming just south of Dexter and selling bouquets from a self-serve stand on Baker Road. Owner Anne Savage grows a wide variety of sustainably raised, long-lasting flowers and foliage on less than an acre in town. For the rest of the season, locals can only buy her "wildly elegant" bouquets directly from the roadside stand at 2367 Baker Road.

• Dexter moves forward 45-acre land annexation request for homes, possible well (mlive.com) — Dexter officials have approved a developer's request to annex 45 acres off Baker Road for about 119 new homes and a possible future municipal well, sending the plan to the state boundary commission. City leaders are also still pursuing a separate 425 agreement with Scio Township, which wants nearby woodlands preserved and has raised questions about groundwater impacts. Residents should watch upcoming meetings as both options move ahead in parallel.

• Fall Farmers Markets in Metro Detroit for Families (metroparent.com) — Dexter families can still catch the Dexter Farmers Market at 3233 Alpine Street on Tuesdays through September and Saturdays through October, with fresh produce and kid-friendly fun. The guide also spotlights other metro Detroit markets and explains why fall brings extra music, festivals, and seasonal treats. It's a handy overview if you're planning autumn market outings close to home and around the region.
