• Punch-List Work Delays Opening of New Dexter Fire Station (thesuntimesnews.com) — Dexter's new fire station is opening later than expected while contractors return to fix concrete and sidewalk issues, including a non-ADA-compliant corner at Main and Alpine. City Council has accepted a 20-year warranty and $10,000 credit instead of tearing out reinforced concrete, but remaining punch-list work must be finished before firefighters can move in.
   

• WAVE Announces Fiscal Year 2027 Service and Fare Updates, Effective October 1, 2026 (thesuntimesnews.com) — Starting October 1, WAVE is updating routes, deviation zones, and fares on services that connect Dexter with Chelsea and Scio, while keeping the Chelsea Community Ride free. Dexter riders will see new deviation options on the Community Connector and adjusted prices for longer trips and Door-to-Door service, with discounts and assistance programs available for seniors, students, and low-income residents.
