1. MSU gives on-campus students $25 in Spartan Cash after power outage (statenews.com) — On-campus MSU students in East Lansing are getting a $25 boost in Spartan Cash as a thank-you for enduring last month’s prolonged power and hot water outage. The credit will appear in meal plan accounts and can be spent at many spots on campus and around East Lansing. Students who don’t see the funds are urged to contact MSU Live On by Oct. 7.
   

2. Why Michigan State is making students, employees reset passwords (bnd.com) — If you study or work at MSU in East Lansing, expect to reset your NetID password the next time you log in after suspicious cyber activity was detected. University IT staff say there’s no evidence core systems or other data were breached, but they’re requiring stronger, 15-character passwords out of caution. This precaution aims to protect campus accounts without disrupting other services.
   

3. Transportation and Mobility Fair for seniors held in East Lansing (wlns.com) — East Lansing seniors have a new way to learn about getting around town, thanks to a Transportation and Mobility Fair at the Hannah Community Center featuring local transit providers and safety checks. Additional Friday sessions through Nov. 6 will cover more transportation resources, and you can reserve a spot through the city’s website.
   

4. Michigan State students recount time in elevators during campuswide power outage (statenews.com) — MSU students in East Lansing are sharing harrowing stories of being trapped in elevators for about 40 minutes during the recent campuswide power outage. Several described failed emergency phones, spotty cell service and minor injuries while waiting for help. Campus police say they handled about 19 elevator calls with assistance from the East Lansing Fire Department and reported no serious injuries.
   

5. Beyond the Tables: Inside Preparation for MSU's Signature All Majors Career Fair (msu.edu) — MSU students in East Lansing can meet nearly 70 employers at the All Majors Student Success and Access Career Fair on Tuesday, Oct. 6 at Spartan Stadium’s MSUFCU Club. Organizers describe a year of behind-the-scenes planning, plus support like free professional clothing, guided tours, and preparation workshops to help every Spartan feel confident walking into conversations about jobs and internships.
