• Woman, 2 children hit by train in Ecorse (thenewsherald.com) — A woman and two young girls from Ecorse were seriously injured Sunday evening when a passing train struck them near Salliotte Road and 5th Street, prompting hospitalization. Police are still investigating details but say drugs and alcohol do not appear involved, and the police chief is urging residents to use extreme caution around railroad tracks, especially when a stopped train may block the view of another.
