District leaders say new curricula like Wit and Wisdom and Illustrative Math are boosting assessment scores, while added social-emotional staff and board priorities aim to better prepare students for college, careers, and other post-graduation paths.
   

• Road Watch: Oakland County construction week of Sept. 18 and beyond (theoaklandpress.com) — Drivers in Farmington and Farmington Hills should expect lane closures and detours on 10 Mile and 12 Mile roads as major culvert, paving, and signal upgrades continue into October and late fall. Additional projects across Oakland County, including in Novi, Rochester Hills, Lyon Township, and West Bloomfield, may affect commutes and access to nearby businesses and neighborhoods.
