2014 Fenton ArtWalk Artist Jeannine DeLong to Appear at Yesterday's Treasures July 12
Residence: Fenton
Type of art: The last few years I have been intrigued with Mosaics. I have however put a twist on my compositions. I use repurposed items to construct my creations. Some materials I use are broken vintage jewelry, pottery, glass, circuit boards, mechanical pieces... basically anything that I can manipulate into the piece.
What is your next project: I am currently working on pieces suitable for the garden, repurposed furniture that is functional art, and wall art. All the new projects have the mosaic flavor and interest.
How did you get started as an artist: I have always been interested in art. When I was in grade school the nuns noticed I was able to draw so I was taken out of class to do projects for the school. I was excited because I missed math class and realized that this drawing thing did have dividends! From that point forward I was hooked.
Where can your art be found: I have a profile on Pinterest and a lot of my pieces are at Yesterdays Treasures in Downtown Fenton.
