Describe your art: Acrylic Painting
How did you get started as an artist?: I got started painting when looking for something besides my music that would involve creativity. My wife Sue felt I needed a hobby, so off to Hobby Lobby we went. I never dreamed we would leave the store with art supplies, but we did. I had no idea that I actually could paint. Surprise, surprise...I can, I love it and find painting very fulfilling.
What is your next project?: I do not have any specific project in mind as a next step, but continue to paint on a regular basis.
Where can your art be found?: I often donate my work to benefit auctions involving worthy causes so the paintings have found their way into some local homes. A couple of my pieces are in the Evergreen Gallery in Traverse City. The remainder of about 70 pieces are located in my home and studio.
What inspires you?: I am inspired by the beauty of color, allowing me to enjoy both floral and contemporary work. I paint what I see in my mind's eye, and have a great time doing so.
