2015 Fenton ArtWalk Artist Alphonso R Foster Sr to Appear at The Laundry July 11
Be Closer to Arts & Culture in Downtown Fenton Saturday July 11
Residence: Flint Michigan
How did you get started as an artist?: Early in grade school at the age of 10 and to my surprise, my art work in class started to look good. All the other kids crowned me as the artist. I felt I was chosen by a higher power with this gift.
Describe your art: I paint a lot of portraits so realism is a must. It’s difficult to classify my art because I have no boundaries when it comes to painting a certain subject.

What is your next project?: I’m a self-taught artist and love learning how to use different mediums. For some reason unknown to me, I’ve avoided oil paints most of my art career. My latest project is learning to paint with oils by painting a 3’ x 4’ oil on canvas of three horse charging at you.
Where can your art be found?: I can be found at fostersart.com or e-mail me at fostersart@aol.com.

Do you belong to any art organizations?: Greater Flint Art Council.
What inspires you?: Everything. To me art is like telling a story. No matter how simple the story is I want to tell it in the most interesting way like a movie. I want the right lighting, angles, color, main subject and supporting cast. When I take a break from my paintings I feel like yelling...cut! Take five!
