2015 Fenton ArtWalk Artist Angela Hamilton to Appear at Fenton House July 11

Be Closer to Arts & Culture in Downtown Fenton Saturday July 11

Residence: Grand Blanc

How did you get started as an artist?: I have been attracted to making art since I was a teenager. Even though I have a business degree, I drifted my career toward the arts and worked as a Graphic Artist for the Big 3. Then I worked at home in freelance but quit once I had more children. Once they were getting a little more independent I started taking painting classes at the FIA in 2011. Not long after, I became serious about working in the Fine Arts.

Describe your art: My art is an expression of my love for Michigan and the people in it. I have traveled quite a bit and I know I live in one of the most beautiful places in the country and I would like to showcase it. I find acrylics to be most environmentally friendly medium where I can mix the colors that I want and communicate the beauty that I see in a realistic style.

What is your next project?: I would like to expand my portrait portfolio and continue on my Michigan landscapes.

Where can your art be found?: I am a regular consignor at the Shiawassee Art Center in Owosso and the FIA Sales and Rental. Also I have applied to several competitions across the state so check my Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/AngelaZHamilton and blog at http://www.angelazybellhamilton.blogspot.com/ for current postings and updates.

What inspires you?: Nature, a sunset, color, people, animals and many other things inspire me. Art is capturing the beauty of everything moment and things.
