How did you get started as an artist?: I’ve played music since I was in grade school and at that age it’s all about learning and not about expressing yourself. When I was 14 my dad bought me an electric guitar and that was the creative catalyst for me and how I expressed myself until photography came a calling.

Describe your art: I like color, emotion, and drama so when your photos do not have people in them the scene has to tell the story or generate interest. My shots will almost always have some post processing done to them.

What is your next project?: I’ve taken an interest in shooting the insides of Detroit’s abandoned buildings. The Fisher Body Plant has basically a museum of street art. Every floor offers something a bit different than the last.

What inspires you?: Traveling, getting out of routines really bring creativity out of hibernation.
