It will be a lengthy ballot for Genesee County voters on Nov. 6, the Flint Journal reports. There will be two pages, front and back, for voters to decide on, with three tax proposals on page 2 for the MSU Extension, counseling and assistance for veterans, and the Genesee Health Plan.

World Martial Arts Academy, 211 Industrial Way in Fenton, is hosting Healthy Tai Chi for Seniors 50-plus from 1-1:40 p.m. today. Tai chi is believed to boost the immune system, slow aging, lower blood pressure, improve balance and coordination and lower anxiety and depression. 5. Looking Ahead

The Detroit Zoological Society and Michigan Humane Society, with more than 20 local animal welfare organizations, will host the annual fall Meet Your Best Friend at the Zoo from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Hundreds of dogs, cats, puppies and kittens will be available for immediate adoption at one of the nation’s largest off-site companion animal adoption events. Adoption fees and policies are set by each participating animal welfare group.
