• Transportation Alternatives Spending Report FY 2025 (railstotrails.org) — Fenton is set to receive just over $1 million to build a mixed-use path along Silver Lake Road from Jennings Road to Silver Lake Court, improving local options for walking and biking. The project will help link Fenton with Linden and nearby townships, and ultimately connect major statewide trail systems stretching between Lake Huron, Lake Michigan, Detroit and the Upper Peninsula.
• Three from Mid-Michigan appointed to state boards and commissions (wnem.com) — A Fenton resident, master plumber Joel Roberts, has been appointed to Michigan's State Plumbing Board, where he'll help shape plumbing code rules and licensing statewide. His appointment, which still needs Senate consent, puts local expertise into a key regulatory role alongside two other Mid-Michigan appointees to separate state bodies.
• Flint-area high school football Week 2 scoreboard (mlive.com) — Fenton football fans can celebrate a 27–20 win over Haslett in a busy Week 2 slate for Flint-area high schools. The roundup lists Thursday's final scores, including Lake Fenton's loss to Dearborn Divine Child, and previews additional Friday matchups with updates promised as more results come in.
