• Fenton targets 'high-speed' e-bikes with new sidewalk ban, safety rules (wnem.com) — Fenton has approved and begun enforcing a new e-bike ordinance that bans riding on sidewalks downtown, requires headlights at night, and sets fines up to $500 for unsafe behavior. Prompted by near-misses around busy outdoor dining areas, the rules target high-speed riders and underage "peg bikes," with police shifting from education to ticketing as school resumes.
• Michigan expert spotlights wakesurfing as summer winds down (wxpr.org) — A Fenton-based wakesurfing expert from Silver Spray Sports is sharing tips to keep late-summer boating and wakesurfing safe and courteous on Michigan lakes. She stresses staying in deeper water, checking each lake's rules, watching for swimmers and anglers, and keeping boat noise and behavior respectful as water recreation continues into early fall.
