Visitors are still enjoying sweet apples, cider, and family time in the orchards as farmers explain how frost, heat, and cool nights can make or break this year's crop across metro Detroit.
   

• Fenton chooses not to renew Flock camera contract (abc12.com) — Fenton officials have ended their trial with Flock automated license-plate cameras, citing high annual costs and limited use, and removed the system by mid-to-late August. Police Chief Jason Slater says the city may revisit similar technology if funding and needs change, while some residents raise privacy concerns and others prefer investing in more officers instead.
